Rafael Alvarez lives and writes in Baltimore, where all of his stories take place. A former City Desk reporter for the Baltimore Sun, Alvarez wrote for the first three seasons of the HBO drama "The Wire." His most recent collection of fiction is Basilio Boullosa Stars in the Fountain of Highlandtown.
