Diana Pabst Parsell, a senior editor of The Independent, has three decades of experience in journalism, science writing, public information and editorial project management. She is widely published and has worked on staff or as a contractor for National Geographic, The Washington Post, The Chronicle of Higher Education, USA Weekend, AAAS and NIH, as well as several international research centers in Southeast Asia. She has master’s degrees from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and the writing program of Johns Hopkins. She lives with her husband in Falls Church, Va., and is now working on her first book, on 19th-century travel writer and journalist Eliza Scidmore (www.agreatblooming.com).
