Ruth E. “I can write about anything!”® Thaler-Carter (www.writerruth.com) is a successful, award-winning freelance writer/editor who credits her membership in American Independent Writers with helping her build her writing business in its early days. She has been an AIW member since 1980 and was the organization’s first-ever ongoing newsletter editor, serving in that role for more than 10 years, as editor emeritus for several years after that, as editor again in 2001 and in many other volunteer capacities. She has written reviews of mystery books for the Washington Book Review and created a newsletter for Washington’s MysteryBooks store.
