Nancy McKnight

Nancy MacKnight joined the English faculty at the University of Maine, Orono, in 1972, after receiving her Ph. D. from Columbia.  She went on to become department chair and university Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.  Later she moved to the office of the University of Maine System, comprised of seven universities, where she became Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, before returning to teaching at Orono.  Now retired, she teaches literature at both Penobscot Valley and Downeast Senior Colleges.  A longtime member of the Maine Humanities Council, of which she has been Chairman of the Board, Nancy facilitates literature programs at a variety of venues throughout the state.
