Nicholas A. Basbanes is the author of nearly a dozen highly acclaimed books of cultural history, including Every Book Its Reader: The Power of the Printed Word to Stir the World and On Paper: The Everything of Its Two Thousand Year History.
Kirkus calls his latest work, Cross of Snow: A Life of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, “a revelatory exploration of Longfellow’s life and art and how he became a ‘dominant force in American Letters.’”
