Patti Smith: Songs & Stories

  • November 13, 2022

The musician and author of A Book of Days comes to DC on Thurs., Nov. 17th, at 7 p.m.!

Patti Smith: Songs & Stories

In 2018, visionary writer and performer Patti Smith posted her first Instagram photo: her hand with the simple message: “Hello Everybody!” Known for shooting with a film camera, Smith started posting images from her phone, including portraits of her kids, her radiator, her boots, and her cat. Followers felt an immediate affinity with these miniature windows into the world of the National Book Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

With over 365 photographs taking you through a single year, A Book of Days is a new way to experience Smith’s expansive mind. She shares vintage photographs, previously unpublished photos from life on and off the road, and, in intimate daily notations, dispatches from her travels around the world. Charting her passions, devotions, obsessions, and whims, A Book of Days is a timeless offering for deeply uncertain times and an inspirational map of an artist’s life.

During this event, Smith will speak about the book and perform a few songs. Please note that books will not be signed by the author.
