Isha Sesay in Conversation with Frederica Wilson

Boko Haram’s kidnapping of 276 Nigerian girls in April 2014 made headlines worldwide. Sesay, the long-time CNN Africa reporter, covered the story from the beginning and was the only journalist to accompany 21 of the girls back home. Building on the work that earned her a Peabody and a Gracie Award, in her new book she tells the full story of the incident, revealing new details about the girls’ years in captivity, exposing the weaknesses of the Nigerian government’s response to the attack, synthesizing the episode’s lessons for global security, and providing a vivid example of the crucial role of journalism in today’s world. Sesay will be in conversation with Frederica Wilson, a Florida member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2011.
