Poetry on the Patio

Join us for an early Fall poetry reading on our back patio! We'll hear from three wonderful poets:

Michael Collier is the author of eight collections of poems, including The Missing Mountain: New and Selected Poems (University of Chicago Press, 2021). He has been a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize as well as a recipient of numerous honors, including a fellowship from the Guggenheim Foundation and an Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. A former poet laureate of Maryland, he recently retired from the University of Maryland, Department of English.

Charlie Clark studied poetry at the University of Maryland. His work has appeared in the New England Review, Pleiades, Ploughshares, Smartish Pace, Threepenny Review, West Branch, and other journals. A 2019 NEA fellow and recipient of scholarships to the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, he is the author of The Newest Employee of the Museum of Ruin (Four Way Books, 2020). He lives in Austin, TX.

Hannah Baker Saltmarsh's work has appeared in the Yale Review, Feminist Studies, American Poetry Review, and others. She is the author of the poetry collection Hysterical Water (Univ. of Georgia Press, 2021) and a book of literary criticism, Male Poets and the Agon of the Mother: Contexts in Confessional and Post-confessional Poetry (Univ. of South Carolina Press, 2019). She lives with her family in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is a proud alum of the University of Maryland's MFA program.
