Jessica James

Jessica James is a former editor who spent 18 years in a newsroom before turning her attention to writing Civil War fiction. Her latest novel Noble Cause won the coveted John Esten Cooke Award for Southern Fiction as well as a number of other national awards in both the historical fiction and romance categories. An avid horsewoman, James is a new recruit of the 18th Virginia Volunteer Cavalry re-enactment group, and stays busy working part-time as a stagehand where she assists with shows ranging from country bands and comedy acts, to operas, symphonies and ballets. James was featured in the book 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading, published in 2010. She writes from her pre-Civil War home in Gettysburg, Pa.
