Meet one of our esteemed panelists!

The Washington Writers Conference Presents A’Lelia Bundles

Author and journalist A’Lelia Bundles earned high praise for On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C.J. Walker, a New York Times Notable Book and the inspiration for “Self Made,” a Netflix limited series starring Octavia Spencer. Bundles is now at work on her fifth book, The Joy Goddess of Harlem: A’Lelia Walker and the Harlem Renaissance, about her trailblazing great-grandmother.

So, what’s the secret to taking the life of a compelling figure and turning it into a piece of compelling writing? Bundles and fellow authors Amy Argetsinger, Ronnie Greene, and Daniel de Visé will tell you during “The Art of Profile and Biography,” moderated by David O. Stewart. It’s just one of many excellent panels in store at the 2022 Washington Writers Conference on May 13-14 in Rockville, MD!

Whether you’ve already got a great idea for a biography or are just kicking around some thoughts, don’t miss your chance to learn from Bundles and other pros at the conference! We’re almost sold out, so REGISTER NOW! (Note: Proof of vaccination against covid-19 is required to attend.)
