On Thursday, April 25, East City Bookshop in Washington, D.C. will host a special event exploring the evolution of historical romance novels. The event will feature a panel discussion with four acclaimed historical romance authors: Elizabeth Everett, Liana de la Rosa, Amalie Howard, and Diana Quincy. These authors will discuss how the historical romance genre has changed over time and share their visions for its future. The event will be a hybrid format, with both an in-person component with limited seating as well as a virtual broadcast via Zoom Webinar. Attendees, both in-person and virtual, will have the opportunity to ask the authors questions during the audience Q&A portion. Elizabeth Everett, whose Secret Scientists of London series has received critical acclaim, will share how her work is inspired by admiration for rule breakers and the power of love. Liana de la Rosa, known for writing diverse characters in the Regency and Victorian eras, will discuss her writing process and passion for the genre. USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestselling author Amalie Howard, whose books have been featured in major publications, will provide insights into crafting compelling historical romance stories. Diana Quincy, a former television journalist turned romance novelist, will share how her global upbringing influences her work. This event promises to be a fascinating exploration of the historical romance genre, offering attendees a unique opportunity to engage with these talented authors and gain a deeper understanding of the genre's past, present, and future.
