The Naturally Latinos Conference brings together local, regional, and national environmental leaders for dialogue and action around critical environmental issues. This unique 5-day event gives attendees the chance to learn from and engage with Latine thought leaders. Day 2 of the #NaturallyLatinos will feature panel discussions around Urban Heat Islands, Community Outreach, Conservation, and a keynote address by Dr. Jessica Hernandez, an Indigenous scholar, scientist, and community advocate based in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. Dr. Hernandez is the author of the award-winning book Fresh Banana Leaves: Healing Indigenous Landscapes through Indigenous Science. She is currently working on her second book, Growing Papaya Trees: Nurturing Indigenous Roots of Climate Displacement & Justice. Forbes has named Hernandez one of the 100 most powerful & influential women in Central America.
