Join us for an up-close-and-personal experience with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Beverly Gage and her latest book, G-Man: J. Edgar Hoover and the Making of the American Century.

G-Man portrays J. Edgar Hoover as a colossus who dominated half a century of American history and sparked much of today’s conservative political landscape. In 1924, when Hoover became FBI director, buzzing with energy and big ideas, he transformed a failing, scandal-riddled law-enforcement backwater into a modern machine. G-Man uses Hoover's story to explain the trajectories of governance, policing, race, ideology, political culture, and federal power as they evolved over the 20th century.

Enjoy a lively literary discussion over lunch as the author shares insights and excerpts, followed by a book signing opportunity.

Politics and Prose will be on hand to ensure you can purchase a copy!
