Details In the latest of his studies examining relations between the West and the Muslim world, Ambassador Ahmed, author of Journey into Islam and Journey into America, draws on extensive discussions with people throughout Europe. Traveling with a team of researchers, Ahmed, the Ibn Khaldun Chair of Islamic Studies at American University and the former Pakistani High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland, met with archbishops, chief rabbis, grand muftis, heads of right-wing parties, and ordinary people. His rich ethnographic approach to the increasingly tense relations between European and Muslim communities across the continent illuminates issues ranging from the refugee crisis and terrorism to controversies about veiling and general cultural misunderstandings. This event is free to attend with no reservation required. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
