Dear Writer,

Maybe you don’t sharpen pencils anymore, but that’s what I imagine at this time of year to inspire me to write. Riddled with edits, my draft of chapter 19 fits snugly in a plastic-zip folder. I promise myself I’ll finish those last two or three chapters by next spring’s Washington Writers Conference.
