Day Eight’s free, all-virtual conference happens next week!

“The Crisis in Book Review”













Interested in reviewing books or just learning more about the process? Join local authors, critics, editors, and other members of the literary community Feb. 22-26 for Day Eight’s annual arts-journalism conference, this year focused on book reviews!

The free virtual event includes workshops, panels, and two keynote sessions. Speakers include Joyce Carol Oates, E. Ethelbert Miller, Gwydion Suilebhan, Russell Jacoby, Teri Ellen Cross Davis, Marita Golden, Jennifer Harlan, and Brian Broome; workshops will be led by Stephanie Merry (Washington Post), Ron Charles (Washington Post), and Holly Smith (the Independent).

The conference is produced in partnership with the DC Line, the Independent, Alan Squire Publishing, Barrelhouse Press, Dryad Press, the Writer’s Center, and Tagg Magazine, and through support from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and HumanitiesDC.
