The live, literary show comes to DC next week!

Pop-Up Magazine

Pop-Up Magazine is a live magazine created for a stage, a screen, and a live audience. Contributors, who range from Oscar-winning filmmakers to bestselling authors, tell reported, never-before-told, multimedia stories. Plus, our musical collaborator, Magik*Magik Orchestra, scores the stories onstage. We end the night gathered around the bar, performers and audience together. Shows are one night only, and nothing goes online after — you have to be there to see them!

Our spring lineup includes actor Joy Bryant (“Parenthood”); writers John Jeremiah Sullivan (Pulphead), Helen Rosner (the New Yorker), Jenée Desmond-Harris (the New York Times), and Davy Rothbart (creator, Found Magazine); photographer Andres Gonzalez (the New York Times Style Magazine); filmmaker Marcus Ubungen (“Beyond the Fields”); and others.

The show will feature a photographer’s look at the condolence gifts sent in the aftermath of mass shootings; a food correspondent’s analysis of Donald Trump’s favorite salad; a filmmaker’s discovery of the young children boxing their way out of poverty in Thailand; a true-crime story that begins at a “sex therapy institute”; and so much more. Don’t miss it!

Pop-Up Magazine takes place Wed., May 23rd, at 7:30PM, at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. Tickets start at $29. Click here to purchase.
