Meet one of the agents attending the 2023 Washington Writers Conference!
Rachel Beck is one of the many agents who’ll be taking pitches at the 2023 Washington Writers Conference. Here are some things to know about her:
- Rachel, an agent at Liza Dawson Associates, represents mostly fiction, including upmarket women’s fiction, contemporary millennial fiction, romantic comedy, and thrillers.
- She is drawn to issue-driven conflicts that may resolve in ways that could help a reader around subjects such as mental health, LGBTQ issues, women’s struggles, and more.
- Rachel is looking for stories about relationships in a contemporary setting illustrating the complex connections between lovers, family members, and especially siblings. (She will consider select narrative nonfiction, mainly historical in nature.)
- She has worked in publishing since 2009, including several years spent as an editor at Harlequin.
