Care to Speak, Authors?

A teen writing group would love to hear from you!

Care to Speak, Authors?

Can you spare 10 minutes to inspire teen authors? You won’t even have to leave your cozy writing nook to do it!

Writers Bloc is looking for published authors to (virtually) share their thoughts on creative writing with a group of up to 15 young people. “We’ve been meeting every-other Thursday evening for the last couple of years in the Silver Spring, Maryland, library,” says the group’s founder, Ginny Hillhouse.

“Since it’s closed for onsite meetings now because of the coronavirus, we got on Zoom last week and had our first awkward online meeting. The kids were pretty depressed.”

She hopes that special appearances by an array of writers will help keep the kids engaged and inspired during this scary, uncertain period.

The next meeting is Thursday, April 23, at 7 p.m. If you’re willing to speak to Writers Bloc on that or another night, please contact Hillhouse at [email protected]. It’s a wonderful thing to do during this not-so-wonderful time!
