Coming to the Gaithersburg Book Festival? Don’t forget your rookie readers!

Bring the Kids!

This year’s Gaithersburg Book Festival has plenty of wordy goodness lined up for the little ones! Among the draws:

  • A Children’s Village. Here, kids can meet some of their favorite authors, including Jorge Aguirre, Kwame Alexander, Tracey Baptiste, Gareth Hinds, Michelle Knudsen, and many, many more.
  • Children’s Workshops. During these special sessions held throughout the day, aspiring scribes can explore everything from “Characters & Dramatic Action” and “College Admissions Essays: Writing Your Way into College,” to “Create Your Own Stories! Fiction Writing with Writopia Lab” and “Making Comics.”
  • Activities Galore. Whether your wee one wants to hear a story, make a craft, or browse the picture books on display in the Politics and Prose tent, she’ll find plenty of fun things to do all day long.

The Gaithersburg Book Festival takes place rain or shine this Saturday, May 16th, in the heart of Olde Towne Gaithersburg, MD, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
