The Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation Professor Emeritus at the University of Virginia, Peter S. Onuf is the author of multiple bestselling books, including, with Annette Gordon-Reed, Most Blessed of the Patriarchs: Thomas Jefferson and the Empire of the Imagination. Francis D. Cogliano, a fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a professor at the University of Edinburgh, is also the author of several works, including A Revolutionary Friendship: Washington, Jefferson, and the American Republic. Together, Onuf and Cogliano have just published Thomas Jefferson Survives: American Independence in His Time and Ours, which Gordon Wood calls “a powerful argument for the continuing importance of…Jefferson in our troubled and turbulent times.”
