An occasional series in which writers speak for themselves.

Authors on Audio: Chad L. Williams

The Samuel J. and Augusta Spector Professor of History and African and African American Studies at Brandeis University, Chad L. Williams is also the author of Torchbearers of Democracy: African American Soldiers in the World War I Era and co-editor of Charleston Syllabus: Readings on Race, Racism, and Racial Violence and Major Problems in African American History. The New York Times calls his new book, The Wounded World: W.E.B. Du Bois and the First World War, “illuminating…deeply researched, crisply written…[it] is a fitting coda to Du Bois’s unfinished history of Black Americans and the First World War.” Williams discussed The Wounded World with fellow BIO member Sonja Williams late last month.
