An occasional series in which writers speak for themselves.
Award-winning journalist and author Wendy Williams has written several books, including The Horse: The Epic History of Our Noble Companion, Kraken: The Curious, Exciting, and Slightly Disturbing Science of Squid, and Cape Wind: Money, Celebrity, Energy, Class, Politics, and the Battle for Our Energy Future. Her most recent work is The Language of Butterflies: How Thieves, Hoarders, Scientists, and Other Obsessives Unlocked the Secrets of the World's Favorite Insect, which Kirkus calls “a merry jaunt through the past, present, and future of butterfly pop science.” She recently discussed the new book with WYPL.
