About the organizers - The Maryland + DC Chapter for Writers for Democratic Action was established in May 2025. We are a group of literary artists and journalists working together in and around the nation's capital to resist the autocratic agenda of the second Trump presidency, and to support American democracy and freedom of expression.

Transportation and parking - The Writer's Center is walking distance from the Bethesda Metro stop on the Red Line. Free parking is available on Sunday in the public lot across Walsh Street from the center.
