Join us for a book launch reading celebrating Malachi Byrd’s Before We Gone! Co-hosted by Tony Keith, Christopher Jon Heuer, Nico Penaranda, Brandon Douglas, and the Friends of the Shepherd Park Library, the event celebrates Byrd’s poetry collection — praised as “a stunning collection” and “a promise that poetry is both love and liberation.” The author, the 2025 DC Poet Project winner and former D.C. Youth Poet Laureate, will read from the book and copies of the book will be available for purchase. The event is free and open to all, but registration is required. ASL will be provided.
