The DC Bushwick Book Club is presenting a program of new works inspired by Kid Congo's memoir, Some New Kind of Kick, on October 4th, at 3pm, at the Mt. Pleasant Branch of The DC Public Library. The program is free and open to the public suggested for ages 16 and up. The program is part of the library's Hispanic Heritage Month programming.
Bushwick Book Club started in 2009 in Brooklyn, NY, with a group of artists reading a particular work of literature and then creating a new piece in their artistic discipline in response to the work. There are now eight active chapters around the world. The DC Chapter started in 2022.
