Loyalty Bookstores and Kwento Collective are honored to present the inaugural Liwanag Filipino Lit Fest DC, taking place on Sunday October 27th, 2024 in Petworth, DC! Although this is the first Filipino Literary Festival in the DC area, we're thrilled to be in community with our friends Bel Canto Books and the incredible Liwanag Lit Fest in Long Beach, CA, officially making this a bicoastal celebration and event now! Building on the work of our sister festival, we aim to shine a light in DC on Filipino literature and authors from the diaspora.

FEATURED AUTHORSGina Apostol, Abi Balingit, Regie Cabico, M. Evelina Galang, Erin Entrada Kelly, Anna Lapera, Tif Marcelo, Taj McCoy, Matt Ortile, Jan Padios, Geena Rocero, Erwin Tiongson, and Annabelle Tometich
**Stay tuned for programming schedule, including author panels and book signings.**

ABOUT KWENTO COLLECTIVE:
The Kwento Collective was founded in 2024 to promote the literary presence of Filipino American writers, scholars, and activists in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and to collaborate with other organizations to empower Queer BIPOC voices. The founding members are: Christine Bollow, Regie Cabico, Gem Daus, Ben DeGuzman, and Reg Ledesma.

Thank you to the talented graphic designer and illustrator Cassandra Balbas for updating the Liwanag Lit Fest logo for the DC edition, with inspiration taken from the iconic cherry blossom trees of DC. Please be sure to check out Cassandra's work on Instagram and on her website.
