The author will discuss and read from her new novel, which tells the tragic story of Queen Victoria's daughter, Victoria, Princess Royal, including her rise to power in Germany. Q & A session follows. "A Most English Princess" has been described as perfect for fans of PBS' "Victoria," and Alison Pataki's "The Accidental Empress," while 'skillfully depicting the intricacies of 19th century German politics, with a portrayal of Vicky that is nuanced and appealing'(Booklist), 'a rich indulgence' (People). Clare McHugh worked for many years as a newspaper reporter and later a magazine editor. She has taught high school history and reviewed books for The Wall Street Journal and The Baltimore Sun, and lives part-time in Washington, D.C.
