Join us for a transnational poetry reading to celebrate the book launch of Romalyn Ante's Antiemetic for Homesickness, featuring special guests: Kimberly Quiogue Andrews, Marianne Chan, Joseph O. Legaspi, Kabel Mishka Ligot, and R.A. Villanueva as moderator! 

Romalyn Ante grew up and lived in the Philippines until she migrated to the UK in 2005 when she was 16 years old. She is currently based in Wolverhampton where she works as a specialist nurse practitioner. She received international prizes such as the Poetry London Clore Prize and the Manchester Poetry Prize. Her debut collection is Antiemetic for Homesickness (Chatto & Windus, 2020). 

Kimberly Quiogue Andrews is a poet and literary critic. She is also the author of A Brief History of Fruit, winner of the Akron Prize for Poetry from the University of Akron Press, and BETWEEN, winner of the New Women’s Voices Chapbook Prize from Finishing Line Press. Her recent work in various genres appears in Poetry Northwest, The Shallow Ends, Denver Quarterly, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and elsewhere. She lives in Maryland and teaches at Washington College, and you can find her on Twitter at @kqandrews.

Marianne Chan grew up in Stuttgart, Germany, and Lansing, Michigan. She is the author of All Heathens from Sarabande Books (2020). Her poems have appeared in Michigan Quarterly Review, The Cincinnati Review, West Branch, The Rumpus, and elsewhere.  She earned her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Creative Writing at the University of Cincinnati. 

Joseph O. Legaspi is the author of the poetry collections Threshold and Imago (CavanKerry Press) and chapbooks Postcards (Ghost Bird Press), Aviary, Bestiary (Organic Weapon Arts), and Subways (Thrush Press). He co-founded Kundiman (www.kundiman.org).

Kabel Mishka Ligot studies Library and Information Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also finished an MFA in Creative Writing in 2019. His poems have been published in Waxwing, RHINO, Cordite Poetry Review, and other literary journals. Mishka is a two-time Tin House Summer Workshop alumnus and the 2019 Don Belton Scholar at the Indiana University Writers Conference. Originally from Quezon City and Pasig, he currently lives on the traditional land of the Ho-Chunk (Hoocąąk) people of the United States.

R.A. Villanueva is the author of Reliquaria, winner of the Prairie Schooner Book Prize. New writing appears in Poetry, the American Poetry Review, Guernica, and international publications such as The Poetry Review, Ambit, and Prac Crit. His honors include the Ninth Letter Literary Award, commendations from the Forward Prizes, and fellowships from Kundiman and the Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts. He lives in Brooklyn.
