About the Host

Emilie Sommer has been the Book Buyer for East City Bookshop since the store opened in April 2016. She most often gravitates toward literary fiction, memoirs, and psychological thrillers -- the darker and grittier, the better. Emilie lives near Eastern Market and jokes that she only leaves Capitol Hill in order to go to E Street Cinema or the 9:30 Club.
