Cross of Snow Virtual Book Launch with Author Nicholas Basbanes This event is free, but requires registration. Please register here: bit.ly/crossofsnow Join author Nick Basbanes for a discussion of his new major literary biography of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, hosted live online by the National Park Service. The illustrated program will include remarks by Nick and a facilitated Q&A with viewers. Basbanes spent more than twelve years researching for this book, including in the collections at Longfellow House-Washington’s Headquarters NHS. The author readily uses letters and journals in his account, adding a richness and authenticity to this telling of Longfellow’s life. Basbanes skillfully recreates the world in which Longfellow lived, giving life to his friendships, his marriage to Fanny Appleton Longfellow, and influences on his poetry. |
