Susan is the author and illustrator of many nonfiction picture books such as Fabulous Fishes, Stripes of All Types and Spectacular Spots. Her books celebrate nature with exuberance and charm and have won awards including the ALA Notable Children’s Book, NCTE Notable Children’s Book, Bank Street College of Education Best Children’s Book and the Parents’ Choice Silver Award. Her bright, bold illustrations and rhythmic, rhyming text elicit praise.
