| Details | In her eagerly-awaited follow-up to The Interestings, Wolitzer explores questions of identity and influence through the lens of a shy college freshman named Greer Kadetsky. Beyond wanting some kind of future with her boyfriend, Greer is vague about her own plans and desires. Then she attends a talk by an iconic feminist. Faith Frank’s address might have been meant for Greer personally, so inspiring does the younger woman find it. As Greer acts on her new-found sense of purpose, Wolitzer’s narrative expands to consider a wide range of female roles, relationships, and feminism. Wolitzer will be in conversation with Ron Charles, editor of The Washington Post’s “Book World.” |
