Here we are again, looking back over another year of bringing you exceptional daily insight and commentary on the world of books. This year — our 12th — rushed by in a whirlwind as we celebrated our 10th Washington Writers Conference, published our 3,800th review, and focused our attention on calling out the alarming rise in book bans.
We’re always grateful and gratified — and a little stunned — to find ourselves still standing in a landscape that has seen countless publications shutter. Running a literary nonprofit is extremely challenging; although our love of books keeps us warm at night, it doesn’t keep the lights on. It’s you, our loyal readers, who do that.
