Stephen Usery interviews Vanderbilt University professor Holly Tucker about her book Blood Work: A Tale of Medicine and Murder in the Scientific Revolution. In the 1660s, the rivalry between the French and English was at a fever pitch as they raced to become the leaders in human blood transfusions,  and the intrigue behind the scenes of the French effort had a very high cost for one man.
