The annual DC event happens next weekend!

It’s Time for the Literary Hill BookFest

Grab your fellow bookworms and head to Eastern Market on Sunday, Sept. 17th, for the free, open-to-the-public Literary Hill BookFest! Now in its 12th year, this fall’s festival promises to be the best yet.

Spend the afternoon listening to (and learning from) 40 authors, poets, booksellers, publishers, literacy groups, and others, including bestselling novelist Louis Bayard, author of The Pale Blue Eye (now a Netflix film); debut novelist and former spy I.S. Berry; National Book Award finalist Carole Boston Weatherford; Washington Post columnist and Thurber Prize finalist Alexandra Petri; and two-time Lambda Literary Award finalist Cheryl A. Head.

Bringing the little ones? Don’t miss the full slate of kid-friendly activities in the playful Children’s Corner. And if verse is your thing, stick around for a poetry open-mic immediately following the main event. Whatever you love most about the world of words, you’re sure to find something to enjoy!

The Literary Hill BookFest runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17th, in the North Hall of Eastern Market, 225 7th St., SE, Washington, DC. Learn more here.
