A special 40th-anniversary event at the Writer’s Center in Bethesda

Legendary broadcaster and honorary Writer’s Center board member Jim Lehrer comes to the center Thursday, March 24th, from 7:30-9:30 p.m., to receive a lifetime achievement award in journalism.

The author of 20 novels, two memoirs, three plays, and a nonfiction work, Lehrer — best known as the longtime host of “PBS NewsHour” — recently penned the novel Super, which tells the story of celebrity and murder aboard the Santa Fe Railroad's famous Super Chief, known as "the Train of the Stars" during its Hollywood heyday.

Tickets for the event are $10/members and $15/public. Call 301-654-8664 or email sunil.freeman@writer.org for more information; click here to purchase tickets.

The Writer’s Center is located at 4508 Walsh Street, Bethesda, MD 20815.
