Andrea D. Cicero
Andrea D. Cicero is a Houston-based geologist working in the oil and gas industry. She is a native New Yorker who began her geological studies at The State University of New York at Binghamton where she earned her B.S., followed by her M.S. in geology at The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Andrea has worked a variety of assignments for several energy companies in Texas and Louisiana; however, her area of expertise is exploration geology of the onshore U.S., including the Permian, East Texas, and Maverick basins. She has most recently published papers on the stratigraphy of the Haynesville and Bossier Shales, and was recipient of the 2010 G.C.A.G.S. Grover E. Murray Best Published Paper Award. When not in search of oil and gas or reviewing books, she spends her time playing saxophone with the Houston Symphonic Band, learning Spanish, working out, taking salsa classes, traveling, and relaxing with her orange tabby cat, Tangerine.
