Our speakers have decades of experience with nonfiction books of all kinds, and from all perspectives:
- Deborah Grosvenor, Literary Agent: Based in the DC area, Deborah has represented heavyweight nonfiction writers like Eleanor Clift, Morton Kondracke, Thomas Oliphant, Henry Allen, Thomas Fleming, Willard Randall, Peter Cozzens, and Meg Noonan.
- Paul Dickson, Author: The author of more than 60 nonfiction books, Paul has concentrated on narrative nonfiction (Leo Durocher: Baseball’s Prodigal Son; Sputnik: The Shock of the Century) and a broad range of reference and novelty books, including The Dickson Baseball Dictionary and Toasts, with over 400,000 hardcover copies in print.
- Ken Ackerman, Author: Ken, a lawyer as well as a writer, is the author of five works of narrative history. Boss Tweed: The Rise and Fall of the Corrupt Pol Who Conceived the Soul of Modern New York, was named a New York Times Notable Book of the Year.
- Robert Faherty, Publisher: For more than 25 years, Bob directed Brookings Institution Press, which publishes up to 50 nonfiction titles every year, and was president of the American Association of University Presses.
