Duende District Pop-Up Bookstore

Visit the Writer’s Center Book Gallery as we turn it over to Duende District, a bookstore by and for people of color—where all are welcome. Celebrate this new venture with a special reading and event on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Center. Founded in February 2017, Duende District's mission is to bring a highly inclusive and pleasurable general bookstore experience in Washington, D.C. and surrounding areas, serving a multicultural community with an equally multicultural ownership/staff. This is a pop-up bookstore that focuses on the large Hispanic, black, immigrant and other communities of color throughout D.C.-Maryland-Virginia, while also welcoming all people to participate in the conversation/experience. Duende District's pop-ups are a brilliant way for the founders to find the community for their permanent bricks-and-mortar home.

At the Writer's Center, 4508 Walsh Street, Bethesda, MD. Click here for info.
