An occasional series in which writers speak for themselves.
An emerita professor of English at Hope College and recipient of a Public Scholars Award from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Natalie Dykstra is also the author of Clover Adams: A Gilded and Heartbreaking Life and, more recently, Chasing Beauty: The Life of Isabella Stewart Gardner. The Wall Street Journal calls the latter “a sympathetic, impeccably researched biography.” Dykstra discussed Chasing Beauty with BIO member Jenny Skoog in March.
