2nd Annual Banned-Book Search
- September 25, 2018
Search for the controversial titles in downtown Frederick, MD, all this weekend!
Curious Iguana and the 1st Amendment Society are hiding 60 banned and challenged books around Downtown Frederick between September 15 and 30 to raise awareness of ongoing censorship efforts in the United States.
You’ll discover these books in local businesses, as well as in public spaces, throughout Downtown Frederick. Follow Curious Iguana on social media for clues—and be sure to share a photo with #fREADomfrederick if you find one of the hidden books.
The book is yours to keep, and with the ticket inside you’ll be entered to win amazing prizes from Flying Dog Brewery, McClintock Distillery, and Curious Iguana—but you must be present at our Cheers to Freadom event* at Flying Dog on Sunday, September 30 to win. For more info on Cheers to Freadom and our guest of honor John Schlimm, author of Moonshine: A Celebration of America’s Original Rebel Spirit, click here.
Please note: If you’re lucky enough to find a book, we ask that you end your search so that others can find a book, too.
At Curious Iguana, 12 N. Market St., Frederick, MD. Click here for info.
