Ellen Prentiss Campbell’s most recent novel, Frieda’s Song, was inspired by the life of renowned psychotherapist Frieda Fromm Reichmann who fled Nazi Germany in 1935 and practiced at the Chestnut Lodge in Rockville until her death in 1957, and by the fire which destroyed the lodge in 2009. In conversation with writer Virginia Hartman, Campbell will discuss the uses of history, experience, and imagination in her fiction.
