Join us for an up-close-and-personal literary lunch with Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Geraldine Brooks and her latest book, Horse: A Novel. A discarded painting in a junk pile, a skeleton in an attic, and the greatest racehorse in American history: from these strands, Brooks braids a sweeping story of spirit, obsession, and injustice across American history. The discussion and lunch will be followed by a book-signing opportunity. Politics and Prose will be on hand to ensure you can purchase a copy. Australian-born Geraldine Brooks grew up in Sydney. She was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in fiction in 2006 for her second novel, March. Her novels “Caleb’s Crossing” and “People of the Book” were New York Times bestsellers. Brooks worked as a reporter for the Sydney Morning Herald and the Wall Street Journal, where she covered crises in the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans. Her first novel, Year of Wonders, is an international bestseller, translated into more than 25 languages and currently under option to the actor Olivia Colman. Brooks’ latest work, Horse, is featured at the 2022 National Book Festival. Tickets on sale now.$110 per person, includes three-course lunch with wine. |
