In this talk, Dr. Ana Patricia Rodriguez will discuss Salvadoran migration to the DMV as well as provide an overview of the literary traditions which travel with this immigrant community. She'll pay special homage to emerging Salvadoran writers of the region who have enriched the greater cultural landscape of Maryland. Dr. Rodriguez is Associate Professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. She has published widely on Central American cultures and is the author of Dividing the Isthmus: Central American Transnational HistoriesLiteratures, and Culture. For Hispanic Heritage Month.
