April was a busy month here at the Independent. We announced our upcoming Books Alive! 2013 Writers Conference (Saturday, June 8 in Bethesda), as well as our partnership with the Gaithersburg Book Festival. We also posted 31 book reviews and 16 features for a total of 47 posts. Whew! It makes me tired just thinking about it. Of our April posts, here are the ones that attracted the most readers:

1) Math on Trial: How Numbers Get Used and Abused in the Courtroom by Leila Schneps and Coralie Colmez. Bharath Parthasarathy took a very even-handed look at this treatment of a fascinating subject.

2) April Exemplars: Poetry Reviews by Grace Cavalieri. April was National Poetry Month, and Grace’s comprehensive round-up of books and poetry did justice to the occasion.

3) NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. Ruth Tillman examines the latest from this young master of horror. 

4) Interview with Tamas Dobozy. Linda Morefield talks with the author of Siege 13.  

5) Harvard Square by Andre Acimen. K.H. Macomber reviews this book about outsiders and outliers.
