Edward Doyle-Gillespie will be joined by writer Jenny O’Grady and actor and teaching artist Alex Hewett.

Edward Doyle-Gillespie is a longtime Hampden resident. Holding a degree in History from George Washington University, and an MLA from Johns Hopkins University, he spent roughly ten years teaching literature and history. His writing has appeared in journals and books in the US and other Western nations. He will be reading from his recent publication, On the Later Addition of Sancho Panza.

A native of the Eastern Shore, Jenny O'Grady writes and makes book sculptures in Baltimore. By day, she edits UMBC Magazine; by night, she runs The Light Ekphrasic, a quarterly ekphrastic journal that pairs writers and visual artists from all over the world to create new works online. The Baker Artist Awards named Jenny a 2013 winner for her book arts, and she was the 2013-14 writer-in-residence for the Howard County Poetry & Literature Society, based in Columbia, Maryland.

A former psychotherapist, Alex Hewett is now a self-employed actor and teaching artist. A member of Chesapeake Shakespeare, she also teaches theatre, improv and writing as a creative therapy at Sheppard Pratt Hospital. Since performing her own work with Mortified ― where adults share their high school and adolescent diaries, poetry, etc., on stage ― she has become a producer and story consultant for Mortified DC / Baltimore.
