Taking his title, How's Your Faith?, from an inquiry addressed to him by President George W. Bush, Gregory, a former NBC reporter and moderator of Meet the Press, chronicles the spiritual quest that ensued as he tried to work out his beliefs. Putting his own spirituality into the context of a wide range of religious traditions, Gregory starts with what he learned from his Jewish father, Catholic mother, and Protestant wife, then seeks out formal Bible study, confers with Evangelicals and archbishops, visits megachurches and Orthodox synagogues; ultimately, the spiritual journey is itself a great part of the faith.
