Starting as an underdog late-night program hosted by Craig Kilborn, "The Daily Show" ran from 1999 to 2015, launching the careers of comedians including Samantha Bee and Stephen Colbert and of comic writers like John Hodgman. Smith has stories about the legendary cast and the show’s famous political guests as well as details about the development of many of the skits and monologues.
